HDTV

HDTV is the abbreviation of ”High Definition Television“ and describes television which has a resolution which is much higher in opposition to the current TV formats. The customary television has been broadcasted with a maximum resolution of ca. 576 rows for a long time; in contrast HDTV is able to display much higher resolutions. The number of the maximum resolution which can be reached is constantly becoming larger, depending on the current state of the technology. Currently there are representable from 720 up to 1,080 pixels. A maximum resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels is already possible at the current 16:9 format.
